Wardrobes in Woking
Woking grew up around its railway station in the Victorian era, and its homes reflect more than a century of growth since. There are Victorian and Edwardian houses close to the centre and in Horsell, larger homes in areas such as Hook Heath and Pyrford, family homes across Knaphill, St Johns and Goldsworth Park, and a large number of modern apartments in the regenerated town centre.
With so many types of home, a one-size-fits-all wardrobe rarely works. A period bedroom may need building around a chimney breast; a family home may want a full wall of sliding doors; a town-centre apartment may need storage that makes a compact room feel bigger. We design every wardrobe for the room you have, so it fits exactly and works hard every day.
Each wardrobe is made in our own Dorking workshop and fitted by our own team. You can see sliding door systems, hinged styles and finishes at our showroom, which has free parking, or we can bring samples to your Woking home.

Our services
Every service is designed for your room, made in our workshop and fitted by our own team.
Fitted Wardrobes
A fitted wardrobe built from floor to ceiling and wall to wall gives you far more storage than freestanding furniture, with no gaps at the top or sides for dust and clutter. In Woking’s family homes, it can transform a main bedroom; in apartments, it makes the most of every inch. We build as a front frame using your walls and ceiling, or as a full carcass with its own sides and back, and plan the interior around what you need to store. Sliding or hinged doors, in an almost unlimited choice of finishes.
Made-to-Measure Wardrobes
Difficult spaces are where bespoke really pays off. Chimney breast alcoves in Woking’s Victorian homes, sloping ceilings in loft conversions and openings that aren’t square all defeat standard furniture. We measure every angle and build to fit, with infill panels to square up uneven openings and doors shortened or angled beneath a slope. You’ll see your design as hand-drawn plans or CGI images before anything is made. Every panel is cut and edged to your measurements in our workshop.
Sliding Wardrobes
Sliding doors are ideal for the compact bedrooms of town-centre apartments and the smaller rooms of family homes, because they need no clearance to open. Mirrored doors make a small room feel larger. Choose our slim Lazuryt frame or the bolder Shaker style, with mirror, coloured glass or panel infills, and every sliding door carries a 10-year warranty on its movement. Both systems are on display at our showroom, and we can also fit replacement sliding doors to existing built-in wardrobes.
Walk-In Wardrobes
A spare bedroom, part of a larger main bedroom or even a corner can become a walk-in wardrobe. We plan every interior around your clothes, with long and double hanging, pull-down rails, drawers on full-extension runners, trouser racks, tie and belt racks and shoe storage, open or behind sliding doors. In the larger homes of Pyrford and Hook Heath, a dressing room with a dressing table and matching drawers is often possible.
Hinged Wardrobes
Hinged doors give full access to the interior and the look of quality furniture, suiting period homes and larger bedrooms. Our Aspire range offers over 50 styles in almost 60 colours, made to measure up to 2.5m tall with soft-close hinges as standard. In the period homes of Horsell and Hook Heath, framed doors with a cornice suit the character of the house, while flat Super Matt or High Gloss doors give a modern home a crisp finish. Mirrors can be fitted inside the doors, and handles chosen to suit the room.
Bedroom Furniture
We make dressing tables, chests of drawers, bedside cabinets, headboards and shelving to your exact measurements, finished to match your wardrobes so the whole room is designed together. Drawers run on full-extension runners with soft-close options, and every piece is built from high-density board in our workshop. A dressing table can be built into a wardrobe run, bedside cabinets can be made to the exact width of the space beside the bed, and a chest of drawers can fit an alcove perfectly. We deliver locally and can install anything that needs to be fitted.
Many Woking commuters now work from home part of the week. We design fitted desks and storage to turn a spare room into a practical office.
In a terrace, semi or townhouse, the space under the stairs is valuable. We build made-to-measure drawers and cupboards to fit it.
Local advice
Bespoke doesn’t have to mean expensive. Every wardrobe we make is priced individually, so there are real ways to get the storage you want within your budget. These are the tips we share with Woking customers.
1
Sliding wardrobes generally cost less than hinged ones, because hinged doors use more wood and take longer to fit precisely. In many rooms, sliding doors are also the more practical choice.
2
If your existing built-in wardrobe is solid, we may be able to build a new front frame and sliding doors in front of it, or simply replace the doors. It can transform a room for less than starting from scratch.
3
The interior is what you use every day. Spend on the hanging, drawers and shelving you really need, and keep the door finish simple if budget is tight.
4
If you’re working with your own builder or carpenter, or you’re a confident DIYer, we can supply made-to-measure panels and doors cut and finished to your specification.
5
A well-designed bespoke wardrobe is built to last for many years, which makes it a better long-term investment than replacing cheaper furniture that doesn’t fit.
6
Put more of the budget into the parts you touch daily, such as drawer runners, hinges and the door system, and keep decorative extras simple. They're what decide how the wardrobe feels to use for years to come.
Local homes
Compact town-centre apartments: small bedrooms with little built-in storage.
Chimney breast alcoves in Victorian homes: uneven spaces either side of the fireplace.
Loft conversions: sloping ceilings and eaves.
Small second and third bedrooms: too tight for hinged doors.
Dated built-in wardrobes: sound carcasses with tired doors.
Bay windows in interwar homes: awkward lengths of wall either side of the bay.
