Wardrobes in Horsham
Horsham is a historic market town with a lot of variety. Around the Carfax and the Causeway, its oldest buildings include timber-framed and centuries-old homes. Victorian and Edwardian terraces spread out from the centre, the 20th century added suburbs such as Roffey, and in recent years large new neighbourhoods have grown up on the edges of town, alongside villages like Southwater and Broadbridge Heath.
That means the rooms we work in vary enormously. A period home near the Causeway may have beams, low ceilings and uneven walls. A Victorian terrace will have chimney breast alcoves and tall rooms. A new-build home will have neat, square bedrooms but often very little built-in storage. We design every wardrobe for the room in front of us, so it fits perfectly whatever its age.
Every wardrobe is made in our own Dorking workshop, just up the A24, and fitted by our own team. You can see sliding door systems, hinged styles and finishes at our showroom, which has free parking, or we can bring samples to your home.

Our services
Every service is designed for your room, made in our workshop and fitted by our own team.
Hinged Wardrobes
Horsham’s period homes suit hinged wardrobes particularly well. Framed and panelled doors, cornices and traditional handles sit naturally alongside original features, while flat Super Matt or High Gloss doors suit the town’s newer homes. Hinged doors open to reveal the whole interior at once, making it easy to organise. Our Aspire range offers over 50 styles in almost 60 colours, made to measure up to 2.5m tall with soft-close hinges as standard. Mirrors can be fitted to the inside of doors, and handles chosen in brushed nickel, bronze or a slim modern finish.
Sliding Wardrobes
In smaller bedrooms, and in the compact rooms of many newer homes, sliding doors make the most of the space because they need no clearance to open. Mirrored doors help a small room feel larger and brighter. Choose our slim Lazuryt frame or the bolder Shaker style, with mirror, coloured glass or panel infills. Every sliding door carries a 10-year warranty on its movement. Both systems are on display at our showroom, and Shaker doors can be shortened to sit beneath a low or sloping ceiling in a loft room or older cottage.
Walk-In Wardrobes
A walk-in wardrobe is one of the best ways to bring order to a busy household. In Horsham we’ve created dressing rooms from spare bedrooms and walk-in areas within larger main bedrooms. Every interior is planned around your clothes, with long and double hanging, pull-down rails, drawers on full-extension runners, trouser racks, tie and belt racks, wire baskets and shoe storage. In the larger homes of the new neighbourhoods, a box room beside the main bedroom can make an ideal dressing room. Leave it open, or close it off with sliding doors.
Fitted Wardrobes
A fitted wardrobe built from floor to ceiling and wall to wall gives you far more storage than freestanding furniture, with no gaps at the top or sides. In a new-build home, it adds the built-in storage that’s often missing. We build as a front frame or a full carcass, and plan every shelf, rail and drawer around what you need to store. In the Victorian terraces spreading out from the centre, it also makes the most of tall ceilings that a freestanding wardrobe would waste. Sliding or hinged doors, in an almost unlimited choice of finishes.
Made-to-Measure Wardrobes
Beams, low ceilings, sloping loft rooms and alcoves of different widths are common in Horsham’s older homes. We measure every angle and build to fit, with infill panels to square up uneven openings and doors shortened or angled beneath a slope. You’ll see your design as hand-drawn plans or CGI images first. In the historic homes around the Causeway, where walls lean and floors slope, made-to-measure is often the only way to fit storage that looks right. Every panel is cut and edged to your measurements in our workshop.
Bedroom Furniture
We make dressing tables, chests of drawers, bedside cabinets, headboards and shelving to your exact measurements, finished to match or complement your wardrobes, so the whole room is designed together. Drawers run on full-extension runners with soft-close options. A dressing table can be built into a wardrobe run, bedside cabinets can be made to the exact width of the space beside the bed, and a chest of drawers can fit an alcove perfectly. We deliver locally and can install anything that needs to be fitted, and you can see every finish at our Dorking showroom.
Working from home in Horsham? We design fitted desks, shelving and storage to turn a spare room into a practical office.
Make use of the space under the stairs with made-to-measure drawers, cupboards and shelving, built to fit the slope.
Local advice
A cluttered bedroom is hard to relax in, and the wardrobe is usually where the clutter starts. Decluttering it first makes the rest of the room easier, and it’s the perfect preparation for a new wardrobe. These are the methods we recommend to Horsham customers.
1
Take everything out and sort it into four boxes:
Be ruthless, and you’ll be surprised how much space you free up.
2
Once you’ve sorted everything, hang all your clothes with the hangers facing backwards. When you wear something, hang it back the normal way. After six months, anything still on a reversed hanger is a strong candidate for the donate box.
3
Grouping clothes by colour, with brights in one section and neutrals in another, makes it easier to see what goes together and keeps the wardrobe looking tidy.
4
Once you know what you’re keeping, we can design an interior with exactly the right amount of hanging, shelving and drawer space, so everything stays organised.
Local homes
Beams and low ceilings in historic homes: around the Causeway and the old town.
Chimney breast alcoves in Victorian terraces: uneven spaces either side of the fireplace.
Little built-in storage in new estates: neat rooms but few fitted wardrobes.
Small second bedrooms: too tight for hinged doors to open comfortably.
Loft conversions: sloping ceilings and eaves.
Bay windows in 1930s homes: awkward lengths of wall either side of the bay.

Yes. Many new homes have neat, square bedrooms but little built-in storage, and a fitted or sliding wardrobe designed for the room makes a big difference.
Yes. We measure around beams and low ceilings and build the wardrobe to fit beneath or between them.
It depends on the space in front of the wardrobe. Hinged doors give full access and a traditional look, while sliding doors suit smaller rooms because they need no space to open.
