Wardrobes in Horley
Horley has grown a great deal over the years, helped by its position between Reigate and Crawley and its closeness to Gatwick. Its oldest homes are the period houses and cottages near the station and the old village areas, while much of the town is made up of family homes from the second half of the 20th century, and new neighbourhoods on the edge of town continue to add modern houses and apartments.
For many of our Horley customers, especially in newer homes, the issue is simple: compact bedrooms with little or no built-in storage. A made-to-measure wardrobe solves it, fitting the room exactly and using the full height of the walls rather than leaving gaps around a freestanding unit. In older homes, we build around chimney breasts, alcoves and sloping ceilings.
Every wardrobe is designed around your room, made in our own Dorking workshop and fitted by our own team. You can see door styles and finishes at our showroom, which has free parking, or we can bring samples to your Horley home.

Our services
Every service is designed for your space, made in our own workshop and fitted by our own team.
Sliding Wardrobes
Sliding wardrobes are ideal for Horley’s newer homes, where bedrooms are often compact. Because the doors glide sideways, they need no space to open, so you can place a bed or furniture right up to them, and mirrored doors make a small room feel bigger. Choose our slim Lazuryt frame or the bolder Shaker style, with mirror, coloured glass or panel infills. Every sliding door carries a 10-year warranty on its movement. We can also fit replacement sliding doors to existing built-in wardrobes. Both door systems are on display at our showroom.
Fitted Wardrobes
A fitted wardrobe built from floor to ceiling and wall to wall adds the storage many newer homes lack, with no gaps at the top or sides. We build as a front frame using your walls and ceiling, or as a full carcass with its own sides and back, and plan every section of the interior around what you need to store. Sliding or hinged doors, in an almost unlimited choice of finishes. In new homes where every bedroom is a similar size, a fitted wardrobe in each room adds storage without taking up more floor space than a freestanding unit.
Walk-In Wardrobes
A walk-in wardrobe can work in more Horley homes than you might expect. A box room next to the main bedroom, part of a larger bedroom or even a corner can become a walk-in area. We plan every interior around your clothes, with long and double hanging, pull-down rails, drawers on full-extension runners, trouser racks and shoe storage, open or behind sliding doors. In a newer home, screening off part of the main bedroom with sliding doors is often the simplest way to create a walk-in area without losing a room.
Made-to-Measure Wardrobes
Horley’s older cottages and period homes often have uneven walls and alcoves, while loft conversions bring sloping ceilings. We measure every angle and build to fit, with infill panels to square up openings and doors shortened or angled beneath a slope. You’ll see the design as hand-drawn plans or CGI images first. In a new-build home, loft rooms and box rooms with boxed-in pipes or bulkheads above the stairs benefit too, with storage built around them rather than squeezed in front. Every panel is cut and edged in our workshop.
Hinged Wardrobes
Hinged doors give full access to the whole interior and the look of quality furniture. Our Aspire range offers over 50 styles in almost 60 colours, from traditional framed doors to sleek flat fronts, made to measure up to 2.5m tall with soft-close hinges as standard. In smaller rooms, we’ll suggest sliding doors or a mix. In Horley’s period homes, framed doors suit the character of the house, while flat Super Matt or High Gloss doors keep a new-build bedroom feeling fresh. Mirrors can be fitted to the inside of doors, and handles chosen to suit the room.
Bedroom Furniture
We make dressing tables, chests of drawers, bedside cabinets, headboards and shelving to your exact measurements, finished to match your wardrobes so the whole room is designed together. Drawers run on full-extension runners with soft-close options. In a compact bedroom, bedside cabinets made to the exact width of the space beside the bed, or a slim chest of drawers in an alcove, make the room work far better than standard furniture. A dressing table can be built into a wardrobe run, and we can deliver or install, whichever suits you.
With more people working from home, we design fitted desks and storage to turn a small bedroom into a practical office.
In a compact home, every bit of storage counts. We build made-to-measure drawers and cupboards for the space under the stairs.
Local advice
Sliding wardrobes aren’t only for bedrooms. In a compact home, the same made-to-measure approach can add storage anywhere there’s a recess or a wall to spare. These are some of the places our Horley customers use them.
1
A shallow run of sliding doors on a landing or in a hallway can hold coats, shoes, bags and household supplies, all hidden behind a clean, flat front. Because the doors slide, they don’t block a narrow walkway.
2
In a room that doubles as a guest bedroom and an office, sliding doors can hide shelves of files and equipment, or guests’ clothes, so the room stays tidy whichever way it’s being used.
3
Alcoves beside a chimney breast or a recess left by a boxed-in pipe can be fronted with sliding doors to create built-in storage that looks part of the house.
4
Our Lazuryt sliding system has hidden bottom rollers, so it can be used as a sliding partition, for example between a bedroom and a dressing area.
5
Built-in storage is something buyers notice, and well-designed sliding wardrobes help a home feel more spacious and practical.
6
Sliding doors also work beneath a staircase or along the eaves of a loft room, where there isn't space for doors to swing open.
Local homes
Compact bedrooms in newer homes: little floor space and few or no built-in wardrobes.
Hallways without storage: coats, shoes and bags with nowhere to go.
Rooms doing two jobs: guest rooms that are also home offices.
Older homes near the station: alcoves and uneven walls.
Loft conversions: sloping ceilings and eaves.
Dated built-in wardrobes: sound carcasses with tired doors that can be refreshed with new sliding or hinged doors.
