The owners of this detached house in Kingswood wanted a dedicated home office that could hold everything, from work files and equipment to personal possessions, without the room ever looking cluttered. Clean lines and plenty of storage were the priority, along with a desk area that felt bright and comfortable to work at.
We built the office across the full wall and round into the corner, so the storage wraps the room and the desk sits naturally at its heart. Rather than repeat one size of unit, we designed a mix of drawers and cupboards in different sizes, so each item has a home that suits it: deep drawers for files, shallower ones for stationery and smaller pieces, and cupboards for anything bulky.
Tall cupboards rise above the worktop on either side, taking the storage up to the ceiling, while open shelves in the corner give space for books, photos and a few favourite things. There’s plenty of worktop for a laptop, printer and paperwork, and the doors close on everything else.
The central workspace has lighting built in above it, giving a well-lit spot to work without relying on a desk lamp. The customer chose our Shaker doors in Matt Dust Grey, paired with a Grey Vicenza Oak carcass and slim black D handles. The mix of soft grey, warm woodgrain and crisp black detailing gives the office a smart, contemporary feel.
A home office with a clean, calm look, where everything is stored neatly behind doors or on display by choice. The built-in lighting makes the desk a pleasant place to work, and the varied storage means the room stays organised however busy the working week gets.
Because every piece was designed for this room, the furniture fits the space exactly and makes use of the full height of the wall, giving far more storage than freestanding office furniture ever could.
